Updated: Mar 19

Today (4 October) Ras Manasseh reggae artist from Portland Jamaica visited the Brixton Bugle office.

Ras Manasseh is in London for a month to promote his new 14 track album Time Now.

Songs include I remember Mama which Ras wrote while looking after his mother, adding the final verse after she had passed away; Time Now the title track; and The Fisherman Song which was written and produced by Grub Cooper CD, musical director of Fab 5. Ras Manasseh’s first performance was at his college graduation in 1998 when he was picked to sing. He graduated as a carpenter but chose music as his passion. He had his first professional recording in 2002 with Boom Boom Boom. On his latest album Time Now he wrote most of the songs he performs.

Ras Manasseh along with Hope Clarke (vocalist, producer and executive member of Jamaican Association of Vintage Artists and affiliates –JAVAA) use their music to support youth and social development in their home town of Portland. In 2018 they started a 7-a-side football competition and this year the final will include performances from stars including Fab 5.

Listen to tracks from Time Now here.
